  1. Aims

The course is designed to help participants deliver the best outcomes for their staffs and beneficiaries as they learn to plan strategically for their respective organisations. Participants engaged in this course will be introduced to the process of developing a vision and mission for their organisation and using these in strategic choice as they seek to make the most of the organisational’s resources. They will further be introduced to other processes and leaders, managers and administrators involved in strategic management such as the strategic management process, developing a strategic plan, and strategic implementation and analysis.

This programme is designed to:

  • provide you with knowledge and techniques which can enable you to determine a strategic direction for your organization
  •  enable you to constructively reflect on your approach to leadership. During the programme you will work on crafting a set of initiatives to take back to your organisation which may relate to developing your own leadership capabilities, or they may concern the strategic development of your organisation.

1 Key questions at school  and corporate level strategy. What is strategic planning? Steps of strategic planning. Develop a strategic plan for our organisation.
2 Strategic plan for an organization presentation. Main elements of the plan including mission,, vision, core values: excellence, equity, inclusivity, integrity, collaboration, innovation, stewardship,  goals and performance objectives
3 Identifying your organization’s strategic assets
4 The development of innovative competitive strategies for both system and local organisation
5 Strategy in the state, faith, private and not-for-profit context
6 Corporate (educational system) level strategy, including how the corporate centre can add value to its learning institution
7 Understanding ‘strategic perception’.  The strategic nature of the Cameroon educational system
8 The systemic nature of strategic interventions and the management of change
9 Understanding the nature of authority and power in strategic leadership

 

 

  1. Who is the programme for?

 

Leaders, Middle managers, deputies from all organisations, both profit and non-profit making, who wish to develop their strategic management skills. The major criterion for attending this programme is that delegates have or will shortly assume management or administrative responsibility for an educational establishment, organisation or company division.
